“Midnight Moth” - Relay Tapes
There’s some fantastic music coming out of Australia these days and new album track “Midnight Moth” from Relay Tapes’ Butterfly Rhythm EP is a perfect example. Jade Tyers’ laid-back vocals could come from the California coast, but instead hails from Brisbane on Australia’s east coast.
The instrumentation on ”Midnight Moth” reminds me of some of the stuff The Cardigans were doing back in the 90s and into the early-00s. There’s a special pop quality beneath the distortion and a melancholy tucked into the mid-tempo trod.
