“Freedom” - Memory of Speke

Man, this track has really snuck its way into my psyche. It’s got this low-key lazy hazy shoegaze vibe. Lead singer Tegen Williams’ slightly bratty vocals are straight-up ‘90s indie girl, and the subtle but very effective saxophone gives the track a hue of jazziness that I wasn’t expecting. In a very 2025 way, Memory of Speke brings together a variety of influences into one cohesive, unique style.
